Horatio
Sadly Horatio passed on on 29th October and will be sorely missed by all his friends
Whilst Horatio Hornblower was a fictitious character from a series of books set in the Napoleonic wars, his namesake is very much real - although arguably probably has less nautical experience. Horatio was - and as you have probably guessed - another from the "H" gang rescued from slaughter back in 2017 aged a couple of weeks at the time. He grew into a very fine boy. Horatio was of the Holstein breed who are primarily used in the dairy industry.
He was a by product of that industry - as are the majority of males born to dairy cows who are either slaughtered soon after birth or where numbers are sufficient for profit to ensue - taken for fattening. Horatio loved to know that people out there cared enough to help him carry on living at the sanctuary.
